Plantation, FL
Florida Home Build is a general contractor for Plantation homeowners who want the whole project handled by one company: a major remodel of an older house, a rebuild, or a new home on your lot. You sign one contract, and we run the permits, the inspections and the construction through to handover.
Plantation sits in Broward County, west of Fort Lauderdale. The city was incorporated in 1953, and Plantation Acres joined it in 1973, so a project here usually starts with what already stands on the lot: the age of the house, the trees, the flood zone.

A new house on your Plantation lot, from permit to keys. Construction on a mainland lot is guided by $450–650 per square foot, and the final number comes after we see the lot.
On a big lot, the survey, trees and drainage set what the site needs, and we price the site work once we see the lot.
We take projects across South Florida: Broward County, Plantation included, plus Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. Our projects start at a $250,000 budget. Send us the address and any drawings you have, and we reply within a day.

Before you draw
Check five things before the first drawing: the trees, the flood zone, the age of the house, the city permit and the wind code. Doing it before the drawings are final usually keeps the design from changing halfway through, and each one has its own rule.
According to the city's landscape rules, a tree on a residential lot can come down without a permit when an ISA-certified arborist or a landscape architect documents a risk above moderate. Otherwise it takes a permit and mitigation. Plan the house around the trees, and check before anything is cut. This is general information, not legal advice.
According to the city, most residents live in or near a flood zone. Broward's updated FEMA flood maps took effect on July 31, 2024, so a lot may sit in a different zone than it once did. The zone affects how high a new floor must sit.
According to the city, a renovation or addition that costs 50% or more of the building's market value generally must bring the whole structure up to the current code, including flood elevation. A major remodel of an older home can reach that line, so the budget comes before the plan.
According to the city, Plantation issues its own building permits through an online portal. Its same-day service covers small jobs on existing single-family homes, such as a re-roof or a window and door replacement. A rebuild or a major remodel goes through full plan review. We prepare the application, follow the review and book the inspections.
Broward County is generally treated as part of the high-velocity hurricane zone of the Florida Building Code, so windows, doors and roofing in the shell are typically installed with Miami-Dade product approval (Notice of Acceptance, NOA).
The home renovation page shows how a whole-house remodel runs, permit expediting explains the permit side, and the Broward County page covers the rules above the city's.

Price
A turnkey remodel is priced at $50–250 per square foot, and a new home on a mainland lot at about $450–650 as a guide. The final number comes after we see the house or the lot and your plans, and we bill on cost plus a fixed fee with a price cap.
Rates and invoices sit in one shared tracker. If the work runs over the cap, the contractor pays the overrun.
You pay at signing, at the start of work, around the middle and near the end; the later payments are each for a stage you have accepted.
The land for a new build, design fees, permit fees, surveys, furniture and landscaping are separate lines.
Remodel timing is counted from the day the permits are issued and the materials arrive. A new home is estimated at 28–36 months from the first meeting to move-in. These are estimates, not promises. The pricing and terms page lists what each type of project includes.
